activities in the celebration of its 50th Foundation Anniversary, or its "golden year", during AY 2012-2013.  The Challenge will become an annual event, which will serve as a platform in nurturing the innovative Thomasian - or, the "iThomasian" - and supporting the University's thrust for Science & Technology Research as an important strategy to continuously and significantly impact national progress.

This year, the Innovation Challenge is dubbed "neoVation" to emphasize the role of S&T Research and multi-disciplinary Innovation in the University's heightened vigor and dynamism as its Neo-centennial commences.  Under the leadership and vision of the Director of RCNAS, Dr. Christina A. Binag, Dr. Philipina A. Marcelo of the RCNAS

The plan was put forth during the Center's Annual Assessment and Planning (A&P) Workshop held at the Dominican Retreat House in Caleruega, Batulao, Batangas last March 25-26.  Dr. Binag led the RCNAS resident researchers, which included the Dean and Assistant Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Maribel G. Nonato and Dr. John Donnie A. Ramos, respectively, who are both highly accomplished scientists in the national and global arena, in the A&P Workshop.

The UST RCNAS was founded in 1962.  Through the years, it has produced some of the most accomplished scientists in the country.  Today, it is home to prominent and seasoned as well as young and highly promising Thomasian scientists in the field of Science and Technology.
